So you want to know how I started writing blogs? Sit back and read. It’s a long story, but I promise you won’t feel overwhelmed.
Blogs are one of the best ways to ruminate and retain what we learn. Just like journaling. I journal often - partly because I’m wary of keeping a personal diary that someone might read - so I open Notion, pretend I’m “coding,” and write about my day, small plans, and whatever’s on my mind.
Then I began noticing people on X and other platforms sharing blogs about everything they care about - from what they learned recently to simple guides. I used to think it was rubbish. But those “rubbish” posts were getting views, likes, and followers. I wondered: why so much attention? Like many, I assumed they were just copy‑pasting from ChatGPT. That’s a big misconception we have these days. When we see a few paragraphs of text, we label it *“GPT‑generated.”*
One day, when I was very confused about my life - I didn’t even know why I was going to college anymore - I was in my third year, first semester, feeling like a loser learning random tutorials, frameworks, and core subjects with no clear path. Just moving.
There’s a person I follow on X. On a random day, while revisiting his site as I often do, I noticed a “Blogs” section. They share a lot there, including “How I cracked a winter intern in 9 months” - a life journey kind of post with tons of people reading it. That’s when it hit me: people love reading real stories.
So I reached a point where I wanted to write too, even if I wasn’t sure what to write about. And that’s exactly what I’m doing now.
